Privacy Policy
DrawRec is an Android app that helps users record their screen and draw on top of the screen while recording.
1. What the app does
DrawRec lets the user:
- start a screen recording on their own device;
- draw over the screen while recording;
- save the recorded video to the device gallery;
- share the recorded video using system sharing options.
2. What data we process
Depending on how the app is used, DrawRec may process:
- screen recording content created by the user;
- files saved by the user to the device gallery;
- technical analytics events related to app usage;
- app and device metadata needed for analytics and product improvement.
3. Screen recordings
Screen recordings are created on the user's device.
By default, recorded videos are intended for local use on the user's device, including saving to the gallery or sharing by explicit user action.
We do not claim ownership of user-created recordings.
The user is responsible for the content visible in their recordings, including personal data, passwords, financial information, messages, photos, videos, and any third-party confidential information.
4. Permissions
DrawRec may request the following permissions:
- display over other apps, to show drawing and stop controls above other apps during recording;
- notification permission, to show recording-related system notifications when required by Android;
- media or gallery access, to save user recordings to the device gallery when requested by the user;
- screen capture permission provided by Android, to record the screen after explicit user confirmation.
These permissions are used only to provide the core functionality of the app.
5. Analytics
DrawRec uses Firebase Analytics to understand product usage and improve the app.
Analytics may include events such as app start, recording start and stop, permission flow progress, save to gallery, share actions, and error or drop-off points.
Analytics data may include technical identifiers and app or device metadata supported by Firebase Analytics.
6. Data sharing
We may use third-party service providers that process limited technical data on our behalf, such as analytics providers.
At the moment, DrawRec uses Firebase Analytics by Google.
We do not sell user-created screen recordings.
7. Data storage and deletion
User-created screen recordings are stored on the user's device unless the user explicitly shares them using device or third-party sharing options.
If the user wants to delete local recordings, they can remove them from the device gallery or local storage.
Analytics retention and processing may be handled by the relevant analytics provider under their own infrastructure and retention policies.
8. Children's privacy
DrawRec is not designed specifically for children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be published at the same public URL.
